INDICATIONS
Ondansetron drops are indicated to prevent nausea and vomiting while undergoing severely emetogenic cancer treatment, such as cisplatin dosages more than or similar to 50 mg/m2. First and subsequent regimens of minimally emetogenic cancer treatment. In infants and children aged six months to twelve years who present to the emergency department (ED) with mild to moderate dehydration or who have tried oral rehydration therapy but failed, oral ondansetron therapy, administered as a single dose for pediatric gastroenteritis, is effective in reducing the frequency of vomiting and the need for IV fluid administration.
ADMINISTRATION OF DOSE
You can take VOMICAP DROP: ONDANSETRON 2 MG drops either before or after meals. 30 minutes before the surgery, give your kid this medication to help reduce chemotherapy-related vomiting. To prevent your child from vomiting after radiation and surgery, give it 1 to 2 hours beforehand. Help your child calm down and give them another dosage if they throw up the medication within 30 minutes of taking it. If it is already time for the next dosage, do not double the dose. Stick to the dose, timing, and method that have been recommended; do not change the dose on your own without first seeing your child's doctor; doing so might have negative side effects.
SIDE EFFECTS
VOMICAP DROP: Temporary side effects of ONDANSETRON 2 MG drops include headache, constipation, diarrhea, and lethargy. Once your child's body adjusts to the medication, these side effects often go away. Do make an urgent call to the doctor if any of these side effects remain or become troublesome.
PRECAUTIONS
Inform the doctor of any medication your kid is taking, including any antibiotics, painkillers, or antidepressants.
