CETLOC KID: Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg is a combination of two drugs. The combination is available in a pack of ALU-ALU 10*10. Pediatrics prescribe this product. This combination keeps the ventilatory function allergy free.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Levocetirizine is the first medicine in the combination that works as an anti-allergic drug. Skin diseases, common colds, sore throats, allergies causing congestion, blocked or running noses, sinusitis, rhinitis, respiratory infections, and fever can all be treated with this medication. Taking Levocetirizine relieves symptoms of runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing by preventing the release of histamine (a chemical). In addition to reducing rhinorrhea, levocetirizine reduces nasal eye itching and sneezing. It increases nasal patency & reduces inflammation.Leukotriene is blocked by montelukast. Leukotriene causes edema and promotes mucus production. By stopping leukotriene from acting, the salt Montelukast reduces inflammatory symptoms, and mucus production, and clears the airways. Montelukast is therefore used to treat asthma symptoms in addition to usual allergy symptoms including congestion, sneezing, and runny nose issues. Additionally, it is used to treat bronchoconstriction brought on by exercise (EIB). Montelukast, a medication that treats allergies, cannot be used to treat all allergy diseases. Only allergies associated with hay fever are treated with this medicine (allergic rhinitis). As a result of breathing in pollen generated by various plants, hay fever frequently manifests as eye, nose, and throat infections. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor type 1 inhibitor. It decreases nasal congestion and reduces sleep impairment.
