HOW DOES XONEJET-S 1.5 GM INJ WORK?
Ceftriaxone + Sulbactam is a combination drug that contains both Sulbactam and Ceftriaxone. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. INDICATIONS Of XONEJET-S 1.5 GM
XONEJET-S 1.5 GM INJ: Ceftriaxone 1000 mg + Sulbactam 500 mg produces larger zones of inhibitions than ceftriaxone alone. Bacteria resistant to ceftriaxone, once again become sensitive when inhibitor sulbactam is added. Sulbactam synergistically improves the activity of ceftriaxone against B-lactamase-producing pathogens. This injection shows a concentration higher than MIC even after 24hrs against most pathogens.
ADMINISTRATION OF DOSE
The dosage is determined by the type and severity of the infection. Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam dose is based on the equivalent of ceftriaxone dose (Ceftriaxone 1 gm is equivalent to Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam for Injection 1.5 gm). To account for the decreased clearance of Sulbactam in patients with a severe decline in renal function (creatinine clearance of less than 30 ml/min), dosage regimens of Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam for Injection should be altered. patients with a clean creatininemaximum of 1g of Sulbactam every 12 hours at flow rates between 15 and 30 ml/min (maximum daily dosage of 2g of Sulbactam). Sulbactam 500 mg should be given to patients every 12 hours if their creatinine clearance is less than 15 ml/min.
