OMIKASET-500: Amikacin 500 mg INJECTION 2 ML VIAL is available as an injectable. Amikacin is an antibiotic. It defuses Gram-negative & Gram-Positive results. Amikacin injections are used to treat dangerous bacterial diseases such as meningitis, an infection of the membranes covering the spinal cord and brain, and infections of the blood, abdomen, lungs, skin, bones, joints, and urinary systems. Amikacin injection comes in the group of antibiotics known as an aminoglycoside. It eliminates bacteria. antibiotics are known as aminoglycosides, including vancomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin (Neo-Fradin), paromomycin, streptomycin, or tobramycin.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

INDICATIONS
OMIKASET-500: Amikacin 500 mg INJ 2 ml is indicated to perform a wide spectrum of activity against gram-negative bacteria. It is safe & efficacious in patients with systemic infections. This injection is least susceptible to degradation by bacterial enzymes. Amikacin injectables are well-tolerated treatments by patients.
ADMINISTRATION OF DOSE
Injection of amikacin is used to treat severe infections that include Every 8 or 12 hours, a liquid form of the antibiotic amikacin injection is administered intravenously or intramuscularly (two or three times a day). Amikacin is typically infused (slowly given) intravenously over 30 to 60 minutes.
SIDE EFFECTS
Patients may experience decreased urination; swelling of the face, arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs; or unusual tiredness or weakness. Consult your doctor in case you experience any of these side effects.
PRECAUTIONS
Amikacin may cause nerve problems. Apprise your doctor if you have had seizures, twitching, or weakening of your muscles, or if your hands, arms, feet, or legs feel hot, tingly, or numb. If you use some medicines, your risk of serious kidney, hearing, or other health problems increases. If you are using acyclovir, let your doctor and pharmacist know. If you have any sensitivities to sulfites, any of the chemicals in amikacin injection, or other aminoglycoside antibiotics such gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, streptomycin, or tobramycin, tell your doctor. When these chemicals induce significant infections, amikacin injection is used to treat them.Inform your doctor and pharmacist about any additional prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and dietary supplements you are currently taking or intend to take.
